Tasting notes
FINE+RARE, Apr 2023

Violet-blue in colour, this is more powerful and rich than Les Cruzelles – the nose more expressive with crunchy, vibrant fruit tones. The palate offers serious tannins – a chalky grip that complements the nervy acidity and fresh red fruit on the mid-palate – creating a wine of impressive tension. Driven yet round, with the vintage’s signature savoury, almost bitter, moreish finish, this is a stunning wine in 2022 It’s almost ready to drink now, but with a few years’ cellaring this will be even better. Great wine. Aged in 50% new oak. Blend: 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon

Notes of sweet cherries, berries, licorice and smoke preface the 2022 Montlandrie, a medium to full-bodied, suave and vibrant wine with a deep core of fruit, lively acids, powdery tannins and a saline finish. This vibrant, intensely flavored Côtes de Castillon is once again one of Bordeaux's best values in this vintage.

A blend of 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2022 Montlandrie has a deep garnet-purple color. It comes bounding out with eager-to-please notes of wild blueberries, kirsch, and violets, leading to hints of wet slate, tilled soil, and mossy tree bark. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is generous and juicy with ripe, rounded tannins and bags of freshness, finishing with a spicy kick.

Sea salt and grilled sea weed. Dark fruit, but so umami. Medium to full body with fine and chewy tannins. Crunchy.
