Tasting Notes

Tasting notes
FINE+RARE, Apr 2025

Expressive and aromatic, with a stone-fruit profile, this offers juicy, ripe yellow peach and peach syrup, with some more exotic notes too – following through on the palate. This is highly concentrated, intoxicating with a luscious texture that has beautiful balance, managing to retain tension and a satisfying hint of bitterness on the finish. This is a very fine Guiraud that will provide pleasure to both early drinkers and those who prefer more mature Sauternes. Yield of 12.6hl/ha (equating to 30,000 bottles), aged in 100% new oak, 13.5% alcohol. Blend: 60% Semillon, 40% Sauvignon Blanc

This shows good concentration and sweetness with a light saline character to the dried pineapple, mangoes, honey and spices. Medium to full body with medium acidity and a long, round finish.

The 2024 Guiraud is a bold, luscious Sauternes. Apricot jam, chamomile, passion fruit, spice and burnt sugar convey notable intensity to match the wine's creamy, ample feel. Guiraud is a rich, heady Sauternes, but all the elements are impeccably balanced.

Dark burnt orange gold, spiralling white flower aromatics, this is great quality, thoroughly enjoyable, subtle spiced cumin and tumeric, sweetly succulent apricot and nectarine juice without being heavy. 12.6 hl/ha yield, Sandrine Garbay estate director.
