Nicole Lamarche has 0.22 hectares at the southern end of this Premier Cru, close to Romanée Saint-Vivant, with vines that average 45 to 50 years in age. It is, as Nicole herself described it, “100% seduction”. The nose is sensuous, with sweet, plump berries, baking spice and iris florals, luring you in. On the palate, the delicacy and finesse is astounding. The bright acidity drives the wine, giving tension, yet there’s a luxurious nature the fruit that rolls around the mouth, a touch more generous than her other Vosne Premier Cru Les Chaumes. The tannins are rich, almost savoury, with a pure-rock character. Remarkable.

Subtle but not imperceptible wood influence suffuses the spicy essence of red currant, cherry, raspberry and lavender scents. The very supple, round and highly seductive medium-bodied flavors also firm up noticeably on the lingering and slightly more complex finale. This too could be enjoyed young though it clearly has the stuffing to repay a decade of cellaring. Drink 2030+
A clean light purple with paler rim. Light cherry fruit on the nose, then a little burst of fresh red fruit energy on the palate, the acidity blended in, medium bodied with some persistence. In fact, really quite an impressive finale.
The 2022 Vosne Suchots from Lamarche has a bright, forward pomegranate and cranberry fruit aroma with fresh floral, smoke, and spice notes. The texture is light and fine, perfumed and lovely, but it has neither the grand crus's ripeness nor the village wine's hedonistic appeal. The grapes are from a parcel of 0.22 hectares on the lower portion of Suchots – the domaine no longer has access to the parcel in the upper part ('Grand Suchots'), which is in metayage to Liger-Belair. The wine was partially destemmed and gently fermented before ageing in cask (20% new).

Today run by the fourth-generation Nicole Lamarche, this property (previously known as Domaine François Lamarche) is firmly among the best in Burgundy. The Vosne-Romanée estate is most famous for its monopole Grand Cru La Grande Rue.
