Tasting Notes
The 2017 Les Grandes Places combines delicate florals with a bloody, iron note on the nose, leading on to a palate layered with bramble fruit. The tannins are round, supple and soft-textured, with tangy acidity that cuts through the concentrated fruit, while the long finish is scented with white pepper and parma violets.
Inky coloured, and very aromatic displaying a wide range of black fruits and very floral notes. Full bodied with the impressive concentration yet weightless mouthfeel that is a key component found in all three vintages to date. The combination of age of the vines (70 to 110 year old), stunning terroir and delicate winemaking have led to an excellent wine in 2017. Very elegant on the nose with crunchy dark fruits balanced with hints of white pepper and violets. This is a very pure mineral expression of the northern terroir of the appellation. Smooth finish with velvety tannins that last for minutes. A Côte Rôtie that is built to age effortlessly for the next two decades.

The 2017 Cote Rotie les Grandes Places is a ripe, full-bodied effort that boasts lovely cherry-cola aromas, ample spice and a grounding, savory note of black olives. Velvety and concentrated, with a rich mouthfeel and a long finish, this beauty should drink well for up to 15 years.
The 2017 Côte Rôtie Les Grandes Places is the flagship cuvée and comes from a rocking, schist-driven terroir located in the northern part of the appellation. Its deep purple color is followed by a powerful, concentrated Côte Rôtie with loads of minerality as well as dark, chocolaty fruit, ground pepper, and spice-laced aromas and flavors. It has a great mid-palate, and this beauty brings the fruit and power while staying balanced, light on its feet, and incredibly drinkable. Hide bottles for 3-4 years and enjoy over the following decade or more.
